In 1986 the company was purchased by David and Terry Porter and has developed from a small but high profile company of 19 staff into one of New Zealand's most prominent yacht builders.
Two decades of management has seen the Porters build larger more complex yachts, changing processes and lifting standards of construction and finishing.
In the late 1990's a conscious decision was made to move away from refits (which at the time made up 70% of the yard's work) and head the comapny towards new build projects, and ultimately into superyacht construction.
At present there are approximately 100 staff on site covering management and administration, design and drafting, welding and fabrication, boat-building, laminating, electrical service, engineering, joinery, painting and polishing. |
