Five best yachts to explore the South Pacific
Combining award-winning superyacht style and finish with the capability of an ocean explorer, McMullen & Wing’s 45m BIG FISH changed the face of superyachting forever. With an aggressive cruising itinerary, BIG FISH sailed over 35,000 nautical miles in her first 12 months alone, visiting some of of the world’s remotest and most exquisite destinations. Recently spotted in Brisbane, Big Fish plans further adventures in the Pacific and Asia over the coming year.
Following on from the spectacular success of BIG FISH, McMullen & Wing asked designer Greg Marshall to develop a series of yachts, ranging in size between 40 and 55 metres, which would bring the BIG FISH ethos to a range of adventure-oriented yacht owners. The result is the DIAMOND Series, names for the faceted architecture made famous by BIG FISH. The 40m model brings the volume and capability of a much larger yacht into a package that offers access to some the world’s most protected waters which remain off-limited to larger yachts.
McMullen & Wing’s acclaimed FLOW series, designed by Vripack, brings adventure yachting to a new generation. Offering multiple, flexible living spaces, carrying enormous tenders and even a helicopter, this 51m yacht (and its smaller 44m sister) offer all the toys demanded by the active adventure yachting family combined with a modern, game-changing aesthetic. The gullwing lookouts and beach-house aft saloon offer amenity and views never before achieved on yachts of this size.
The BLADE Series of custom yacht concepts, designed for McMullen & Wing by H2 Yacht Design, artfully combines the elegance of Mediterranean superyachting with the muscular ocean capability of a true explorer. Several versions have been developed, ranging in length between 47 and 58 metres. All versions offer innovative indoor and outdoor spaces, spectacular vistas and exceptional capacity for toys and large tenders.
