AWANUI - 2018 NEW BUILD
12M multi purpose vessel
Launched in 2017, Awanui was built for Bay of Plenty Harbourmaster and is central to oil spill response capability in Tauranga and the wider Bay of Plenty. Most of the time however Awanui is a workhorse for the Harbourmaster’s general duties.
Awanui is a highly capable vessel, able to carry large utility road vehicles via its bow ramp, retrieve logs and assist with salvage work with its large-capacity Palfinger crane. One key innovative feature is the large hydraulically actuated spud pole which rotates to a horizontal position to reduce air draft.
